The other day, I had an adventure with my friend Lois to a Bead Expo. I've never been to one of these shows before. I felt like a child let free to run through a candy store. There were so many beads and findings that my head spun. According to Lois, this show is but a small dot compared to the big one coming this summer. I can only image how I'll tackle that one.
I'm all about color and patterns. It makes no difference if it comes in the form of beads, paint, or yarn. When my eye sees color, my inner Picasso sees limitless possibilities. There were tables and booths brimming with pearls, crystals, and strand after stand of bead goodness.
So I came home with a small stash of new treasures, of course. But my favorite finds of the day were these sets of hand painted lucite leaves and flowers.
I could see immediately that they would make some really fun earrings. Think spring, sun dresses, and cowboy boots. I dug through a stash of old jewelry and put it all together to make these earrings:
The best part? They're light as a feather which is really awesome if your ears can't handle heavy earrings anymore AND I have them for sale in the shop here. Swing on by and take a look.
